Midi input from standalone midi controller apps issue

SAND doesn’t take any midi input from midi output of standalone midi controller app like Velocity Keyboard and Midi Poly Grid. If the apps support AUv3, they work perfectly after being inserted as midi fx layer under SAND track.
I am not sure if that’s a bug as other host like AUM and Groove Rider 2 can take both added FX layer and standalone as midi controller. I checked and seems it should be supported by Core Midi.
If standalone app is allowed, users have more choice of midi input interface and also doesn’t have to host the same controller on all tracks to leave the layer for other plugins.

Hi! I think there is anyway a problem with MIDI input channel when input source is set to ANY, Sand does not seem to filter on the channel selected for the track.
- set track midi input on channel 1, any input source
- arm track
- send midi notes to SAND INPUT from external app on channel 2
The track plays sound. Expected : no sound played
Tried from Xequence 2 and KB-1

SAND input channel 1 only have sound if ARM switched on. Or there is a free controller app that we can cross check?

The problem I observe is not related to ARM or not, but to the fact that SAND does not respect the MIDI channel assigned to a track if source is set to ANY

Hi, I just tried with Midi Poly Grid, set up "SAND INPUT" as output in Midi Poly Grid and as input inside SAND, and it seems to be working correctly.
Is your issue maybe related to the fact that per default SAND is not active in the background unless it's playing? If this is the case, in SAND's Settings you can turn on the option "Keep active in background".
Let me know if you still have problems

Thx. My bad I forgot to enable the background audio on iPad and my iPhone was an old one which cannot be updated to the latest version. All good now
